I was asked by Jessica Valentine via the magic of Twitter if I would do a review of her book. I keenly accepted as T and I love reading together, we must read about 10 books a day!
When it turned up in the post, with a little inscription on the front page to T, it was instantly snatched out of my hands and he plonked down on the sofa to start reading.
T loved the drawings, and loved the two doggy detectives Bud and Roo. I liked that it was written with simple enough words that I could sit and show him the letters he knew and how they made up the words. Will be a lovely book for him to read once he can start to read.
There's a little game to play on each page, find the ladybird. T was over the moon, he adores searching out things, like finding the mouse in the 'That's Not My...' books. So the above picture is of him finding one on the sandcastle.
'Found another ladybiiiiiird!!' he screamed at the top of his voice about two seconds after this one was taken.
I love the simplicity of this book and the illustrations!
For now I read it to him and he plays find the ladybirds, but I look forward to the near future when he can sit and read it to himself.
We look forward to more adventures with Bud and Roo!!
